Love of a Brother – Justice for IS Convict
On June 29, 2016, Mahathir Abdul Rahman, and his family were shocked by the arrest of his brother Mustaza Abdul Rahman under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 or famously known as SOSMA.

Mustaza was detained due to suspicion of involvement with the Islamic State (IS).
​​
The journey sparked Mahathir to fight for his brother’s rights and form the organisation Desak Sampai Mansuh to help the family of the detainees.
11 Days in Solitary Confinement, Maria Chin Detained under SOSMA
In 2016, Maria Chin Abdullah was detained under the Security Offences (Special Measure) Act 2012 (SOSMA), which she believed due to Bersih 5.0 involvement at that time. ​

Maria Chin was the former chairperson of Bersih and a person of interest that allegedly threatened the harmony of the government.
Understanding SOSMA, Filling the Lacuna
Dr Ahmad El-Muhammady works closely with the Special Branch’s Counter-Terrorism Division, Royal Malaysia Police and Prison Department to implement the Rehabilitation and Deradicalisation programs for individuals detained under terrorism laws in Malaysia.

He is also a member of the Deradicalisation Panel and Expert appointed by the Ministry of Home Affairs for cases investigated under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (SOSMA) and Prevention of Terrorism Act 2015 (POTA). ​
